As the pace of change continues to accelerate in all parts of society, there is a need to fundamentally rethink approaches to education and learning. That’s why the Brazilian Creative Learning Network is so important. Since its founding in 2015, BCLN has been a leader in introducing educational innovations throughout Brazil, designed to help young people develop their abilities to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively -- skills that are essential for thriving in today’s fast-changing world. The ultimate goal is to catalyze a creative learning movement in Brazil, expanding opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds to engage in joyful, creative, meaningful learning experiences. We look forward to working together with people throughout the Brazilian educational ecosystem -- students, teachers, parents, administrators, researchers, developers, policymakers, and others -- to achieve this important goal.

BCLN has a very comprehensive vision of the projects it carries out, from pedagogical justification to methodology, execution, and program monitoring. This is a unique asset for the partnership established with ChangeX. We started working together in 2021 and shortly after, in 2023, we began offering the Festival of Invention and Creativity (FIC) model outside of Brazil. Communities in Mexico, Colombia, the United States, and South Africa have already participated in the sponsorship campaigns. We have already supported 24 FICs, benefiting over 32,000 people. The forecast is to reach 50,000 people in 2024. We see FICs as a scalable and high-impact idea and BCLN as a long-term global partner, with a very similar vision to ours: to advance the world through innovation and the empowerment of local communities.

Scratch Foundation Program Director

"We have been long-time partners with BCLN. BCLN inspires the way we work collaboratively around the world to develop Creative Learning ecosystems, catalysts for change and empowerment of children. In 2023, we had strategic interactions, such as a workshop where BCLN presented to us how they co-design Scratch Day experiences in their communities. We also participated in the LEGO Tech and Play conference in São Paulo and CBAC, where we piloted a Scratch workshop. In Brazil, the Scratch Foundation team visited four schools, three Innovation Festivals and more than five municipalities. It was transformative, as we could see that Scratch is not only used as a digital tool for coding and expression, but is part of the Creative Learning movement."
